N.W.T. hunter Lanny Stewart, missing since Monday, found safe
Emotional Facebook video shows family and friends greeting Stewart
Just one day after RCMP decided to scale back their search for a missing N.W.T. hunter due to harsh weather conditions, Lanny Stewart was found safe Saturday night.
Stewart, 37, had last been seen Monday around 9:30 a.m. at the James Creek camp near the N.W.T./Yukon border.
He headed out on his ATV towards the valley behind the camp and said he'd be back by supper time that day.
The search began when Stewart didn't return by then.
Earlier this week, searchers found an ATV matching the description of Stewart's, but they couldn't find any other trace of him due to blowing snow.
But local searchers remained hopeful.
Nearly a week after Stewart went missing, an emotional video on Facebook shows he has made it back to his family and friends.
It's not clear exactly what happened to Stewart and where he was found. In the posted video, it appears he was not seriously injured.
Many people commented on the video, expressing their joy.
