Yellowknife driver arrested after slamming truck into school fence

A man was arrested after driving his pickup truck into a fence in front of Yellowknife's Mildred Hall School on Friday night.

No injuries reported, but significant damage to truck and fence

A man was arrested after driving his pickup truck into a fence in front of Yellowknife's Mildred Hall School on Friday night.

The incident happened at about 11:39 p.m., according to an RCMP news release.

Officers responded to a vehicle collision on Franklin Avenue, near the intersection with 54th Street.

The pickup had driven onto the sidewalk in front of the elementary school and collided with a fence.

There were no injuries, but "there was significant damage to the pickup truck and the fence," the news release says.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing, but the adult male driver was arrested. He is facing several charges.
