Men vanished from cabin, whereabouts a mystery
Police in the Northwest Territories are continuing the search for two Fort Simpson men who disappeared last week.
David Horesay and Frederick Hardisty were last seen at a cabin on the North Nahanni River on June 12.
When the cabin owner went back to check on them four days later, the men were gone.
Members of the community have been looking for the men since they were reported missing, and RCMP are now involved in the search.
"Anybody that we've talked to has said there's really no reason why they left the security of the cabin," says Constable Brad Parker of the Fort Simpson RCMP.
"There's no apparent signs of any problems that we can see. They left the cabin without any firearms, the firearms that were stored at the cabin were still there. There was plenty of food and shelter there, so nobody can seem to speculate as to why they left."
Police say the disappearance is not considered suspicious, but there is concern for the men's safety.
Search teams are focusing on the North Nahanni River.
An employee from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is using a thermal imager to search for the men.
