2 missing boaters found safe on Great Slave Lake's East Arm
3rd marine search and rescue out of Yellowknife in 2 days
Two boaters missing on Great Slave Lake have been found safe, say Yellowknife RCMP.
The two left Yellowknife Tuesday for Lutselk'e, travelling in a 16-foot boat.
They were reported missing Wednesday night when they failed to arrive at their destination.
This was the third search and rescue incident on the East Arm of Great Slave Lake in two days.
Four adults and one child reported overdue while travelling by boat to Lutselk'e were found Wednesday night on Ethan Island. Their boat had run out of fuel. Another group of boaters made a distress call early Wednesday morning after one of their boats sank in rough water conditions. No one was injured in either incident.

In a news release, RCMP Staff Sgt. Bruce McGregor urged people to take precautions when travelling on the lake.
"The RCMP is concerned citizens may be heading out on the water unprepared, unable to contact their loved ones or emergency personnel, or unaware of weather conditions. We urge people to always be prepared when heading out on the land or water."
