Nunavut's coroner is warning people in Nunavut about the dangers of huffing propane after a 19-year-old male died in Pond Inlet early Monday morning.

The teenager was huffing propane prior to his death, a news release from Coroner Padma Suramala reads.

"Huffing propane, sniffing gas, drinking paint thinners and antifreeze is dangerous to health and can cause immediate death."

Her office recommends the Health department continue to organize campaigns against solvent abuse.

RCMP are investigating the death.
