Tlicho Grand Chief Eddie Erasmus met with Premier Bob McLeod on Monday.

"We told the premier that devolution cannot destroy the Wek'èezhìi Land and Water Board and the premier listened very respectfully and will consider it," said Erasmus.

If the GNWT agrees to protect the board, Erasmus said the Tlicho will sign on.

The premier is expected to make a decision about the Tlicho proposal in the next few weeks.
