2 men charged in Fort Smith, N.W.T., stabbing

RCMP in Fort Smith, N.W.T., have charged two people in connection to a reported stabbing the in the community Saturday night. The injured person was flown out of the community for medical treatment and is said to be in stable condition.

RCMP in Fort Smith, N.W.T., have charged two people in connection to a reported stabbing in the community Saturday night. 

In a news release Wednesday, RCMP said they received a call around 9 p.m. about a person who had been stabbed and seriously injured on a trail in Fort Smith. The injured person was later flown out of the community for medical treatment and is reportedly in stable condition. 

On Monday, two men were arrested and charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. One of the men was out on bail related to other alleged crimes involving firearms and robbery. 

Both men have been remanded into custody. RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
