Vandals destroy Whitehorse snow sculptures

Whitehorse RCMP have charged two male youths with mischief after eight snow sculptures were destroyed at Shipyards Park over the weekend.

Whitehorse RCMP have charged two male youths with mischief after eight snow sculptures were destroyed at Shipyards Park over the weekend.

The RCMP got a 911 call at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday reporting two people destroying the snow sculptures that had been carved as part of Sourdough Rendezvous celebrations.

Police arrived to find two youths in the midst of the sculptures.

The youths who were arrested and charged were released to their guardians. The youths cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
