Whitehorse won’t plow Millennium Trail

City managers in Whitehorse have updated their snow removal policy, and they’ve decided again this winter not to plow the Millennium Trail.
The new snow clearing policy adds Whistlebend Way and four roundabouts to the list of top priority streets in the city.
Brian Crist, operations manager, says many trail users like to see the 5 kilometer Millenium Trail along the river snow-packed.
"You know some people actually love to ski along there so you know it is a winter city, and council has made the decision not to plough that trail but in spring time when things deteriorate we try to get in there as soon as we can," said Crist.
Crist says the Klondike Snowmobile Association helps maintain the trail, even though snowmobiles are not allowed on it.
