Woman found in Yellowknife alley ID'd as Faye Kara Grandjambe

A woman who was pronounced dead after being found in a Yellowknife alley Saturday, has been identified as Faye Kara Grandjambe.

A woman who was pronounced dead after being found in a Yellowknife alley Saturday, has been identified.

Cynthia Grandjambe has confirmed her youngest sister Faye Kara Grandjambe, 30, was found this weekend.

​Police were called around 7:30 a.m. MT Saturday about a woman found unresponsive in the alley behind the Gold Range Hotel. She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Cynthia Grandjambe says family members are flying to Yellowknife Monday to be together and remember Faye. 

Faye Kara Grandjambe is originally from Fort Good Hope, N.W.T. Cynthia says she was living in Norman Wells for the past three years with her nine-year-old son. 

The RCMP and the N.W.T. Coroner's Office are investigating the death.

A  post-mortem examination was conducted Monday afternoon in Edmonton, but the results couldn't confirm the cause of death. 

RCMP say toxicology results could help, but may not be known for several weeks.
