Whitehorse man arrested, property searched by wildlife officials

Yukon wildlife officials and RCMP executed a search warrant at a property near the Carcross cut off on Friday morning. A 33-year-old man has been arrested for alleged firearms and criminal offences while an investigation into possible Wildlife offences continues.

RCMP in Whitehorse have arrested a 33-year-old man, after executing a search warrant with wildlife officials at a property south of town.

The Yukon Department of Environment say the search warrant was for alleged Wildlife Act offences, at a property near the Carcross cut off.

The man was arrested for alleged firearms and Criminal Code violations, but he has not yet been charged.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and they're asking anybody with information to contact them.
