A 42-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving after an e-bike was seen weaving in and out of traffic in Amherst, N.S., forcing several vehicles to pull to the side of the road.
The man was arrested June 23 around 7 p.m. after an off-duty officer with the Amherst police spotted the e-bike swerving in front of vehicles.
In a news release Thursday, police said the off-duty officer approached the cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet and appeared to be intoxicated.
Police were called and the cyclist was arrested.

He was initially held in custody due to prior convictions for impaired driving and charges for driving while prohibited, police said.
He appeared in court and was released on conditions.
