CBC's Do Crew to sort books for Spryfield's Book Bonanza

The Do Crew is heading out to sort books for the Book Bonanza in Spryfield.

Next week, the Do Crew will be heading to the Captain William Spry Community Centre to help set up the 7th annual Book Bonanza.

Last year, approximately 7,500 books were given away at the event.

The Book Bonanza is hosted by Chebucto Connections, an organization that brings together many partners to help residents who live in the Spryfield area.

The Do Crew will spend a few hours sorting books into categories: science fiction, kids books, non-fiction, biographies and so on.

A simple task, but one that needs many hands — perfect for the Do Crew. Fortunately, the call for volunteers on this project has been an overwhelming success and we already have a full roster.

However, if you would like to donate books to the Book Bonanza, you can still drop them off at the Captain William Spry Community Centre, 16 Sussex St. in Spryfield, or at our CBC Halifax location, in the Mumford Professional Centre.

If you know of an organization that could use a hand from the Do Crew, email Louise Renault an email at docrewns@cbc.ca.
