Inmate charged after Burnside jail fight

Charges have been laid against a man following a fight at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Centre Friday.

An inmate from the Burnside jail has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon in connection with the incident that sent a 21-year-old inmate to hospital with head injuries.

The victim's condition has improved but he remains in hospital, police say.

The accused will appear in provincial court on Tuesday.
