A middle school teacher in Nova Scotia's Yarmouth County is facing multiple sex-related charges after an alleged incident involving a youth.

Tina Lee Cottreau, 52, of Yarmouth is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation, said RCMP in a news release Friday.

The release said police received a report last month of a sexual assault involving a teacher at the Maple Grove Education Centre in Hebron and a former student.

Cottreau was on leave at the time of the alleged incident in February, said police.

The RCMP said the investigation is ongoing, and they do not believe there are more victims.

She has been released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth provincial court on May 12.
