Border changes for Belleville-area riding affect Quinte West

Bay of Quinte spans from Prince Edward to Northumberland counties, with southern Belleville in the middle. (Elections Canada)

Quinte West is portioned out differently in the changes to eastern Ontario's southwestern corner.

The regular independent boundary review that followed the 2021 census takes some of the city and gives it to Hastings-Lennox and Addington-Tyendinaga.

Specifically, the riding border generally shifts from Quinte West's eastern flank near Highway 62 to the Trent River north of Highway 401.

Southern Belleville is a hub for Bay of Quinte, which also includes CFB Trenton and Prince Edward County.

Ryan Williams won it from the Liberals in 2021 by about 3,000 votes. Its boundaries also significantly changed in the last riding shakeup.
