Canada Votes 2025: Carleton
Pierre Poilievre is running in a geographically larger riding

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is running to represent a larger area in 2025 — and we're not just talking about becoming prime minister.
The rural Ottawa riding of Carleton, which he has won seven times in a row, now stretches from Renfrew County to Prescott-Russell because of the independent review that followed the 2021 census.
It adds communities such as Constance Bay and Fitzroy Harbour to Metcalfe, Osgoode and Stittsville. It also takes the area of Piperville and Anderson roads from Orléans, and more land west of Highway 416 from Nepean.
If you're in Findlay Creek, you may now be voting in Ottawa South.
Check with Elections Canada to confirm your riding.
Campus advance voting is April 13 to 18, general advance voting is April 18 to 21 and the deadline to apply to vote by mail is April 22. Elections Canada has more information on voting options ahead of election day on Monday, April 28.
Here are the candidates so far. The deadline to register is April 7 and this story will be updated as candidates are confirmed.
Chantale Dore, People's Party
The party hasn't shared a biography for this candidate.
Bruce Fanjoy, Liberal
Fanjoy lives in Manotick where he built a carbon-neutral house. He worked in business and marketing before stepping back to be a parent and volunteer.
Pierre Poilievre, Conservative
Poilievre has been MP here since 2004, when he was 25 years old. He won just under 50 per cent of ballots in 2021 (another 80 votes would have done it).
Before his election he led a campus Conservative club in Calgary, where he grew up, worked for former Canadian Alliance leader Stockwell Day and was a partner in a communications firm.
Beth Prokaska, NDP
Prokaska is a retired music teacher who still mentors new teachers. She also plays the standup bass, composes music and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2023.
