Canada Votes 2025: Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi

Formerly known as Pontiac, there are additions and subtractions of land with the other three western Quebec ridings to go with its expanded name.

Very large riding has south-end changes

A riding map of western Quebec.
Pontiac-Kitigan Zibi is a very large riding that goes much further north than the other three in western Quebec. (Elections Canada)

Formerly known as Pontiac, the riding gains a small area bordered by boulevards des Allumettières, Saint-Raymond and des Grives, and chemin Pink from Hull-Aylmer.

It loses Val-des-Monts to Argenteuil–La Petite-Nation, and a backwards-L-shaped piece of land west of Montée Paiement and north of Highway 50 and boulevard La Vérendrye to Gatineau.

The regular independent boundary review after the 2021 census also adds Kitigan Zibi to its name for the Algonquin community at its centre.

The very large riding stretches from Gatineau north to the border with Abitibi-Baie-James-Nunavik-Eeyou, which runs north to Labrador, and from the Highway 105 area west to the Dumoine River.

The Liberals have won the last three elections in the area, with Sophie Chatel getting about 43 per cent of the 2021 vote. It has gone NDP and Conservative before.

Polls are open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on election day on Monday, April 28. Elections Canada has more information on voting options.
