Ontario Votes 2025: Ottawa West–Nepean

From the 1950s until 2022, this riding flipped back and forth between Liberals and Progressive Conservatives. Last elections, the NDP won it for the first time by about 900 votes.

Ottawa West–Nepean hugs the Ottawa River between Ottawa Centre and Kanata–Carleton. Highway 417 and the railway overpass between Baseline and West Hunt Club roads mark its southern border.

From the 1950s until 2022, this riding flipped back and forth between Liberals and Progressive Conservatives. Last election, the NDP won it for the first time by about 900 votes over the PCs.

Three candidates are currently running for the seat. CBC adds candidates when they're confirmed by Elections Ontario or listed by one of the four parties with a seat at Queen's Park at dissolution.

Nominations close Feb. 13.

Voting is now possible at local election offices. Advance voting locations are open Feb. 20-22. Voting day is Feb. 27. Elections Ontario has more information on the range of voting options.

Sophia Andrew-Joiner, Green

She has volunteered and worked for federal Green Leader Elizabeth May, and is a Young Greens representative for the provincial party.

Chandra Pasma, NDP

Before the breakthrough win for Pasma and her party, she was a union researcher and parliamentary adviser.
