Environment Canada says to expect a snowy Monday night and Tuesday around Ottawa-Gatineau.

Snowfall warnings remain in northern Ottawa, in Gatineau and to Gatineau's north and east. Advisories about the snow sit south and east of north Ottawa.

The snow was generally expected to start Monday evening and end Tuesday afternoon. Ottawa's main airport had three centimetres of snow by midnight, though by sunrise not all of it was appearing to stick to the ground.

There are no widespread school bus cancellations Tuesday.

Close to five more centimetres of snow was forecast under eastern Ontario's alerts just before noon Tuesday.

Western Quebec's snowfall warning predicts 15 to 20 centimetres of snow total and does not focus on wind.

Renfrew County's warnings had all lifted by 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. The warning west of Gatineau was gone about an hour later.

There are no alerts further south for communities such as Brockville or Kingston.

Colder temperatures are also forecast Monday night and Tuesday: an overnight low of –10 C in Petawawa and daytime high around –3 C Tuesday there and in Ottawa.

The average daytime high this time of year is 9 C.
