Man found drowned in Otter Lake, Que.

A man's body was pulled from a lake near Otter Lake, Que., on Sunday afternoon, according to Quebec provincial police.

Friends lost sight of the man while swimming Saturday night

A man was found drowned in a lake near Otter Lake, Que., on Sunday afternoon, according to Quebec provincial police.

The 25-year-old man from nearby Campbell's Bay was at the lake Saturday night with a group of people who were swimming in the water, said a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The others lost sight of the man when he tried to swim to a platform in the water and called emergency services around 9 p.m., according to the SQ. He was not wearing any kind of flotation device.

His body was recovered around 1 p.m. on Sunday, and he was transported to hospital.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. Otter Lake is located about 80 kilometres northwest of downtown Gatineau.
