P.E.I.'s Progressive Conservative Party has set a date of Sept. 12 for a nomination meeting for the upcoming byelection in Summerside-Wilmot, and two people have announced their intention to run.

Summerside councillor Norma McColeman has announced her intention to seek the nomination on social media, and Brian Ramsay has told CBC News he will seek the nomination as well.

Ramsay ran for the party in the 2015 provincial election, and came within 30 votes winning it.

He was running against Liberal incumbent Janice Sherry, a former cabinet minister. Sherry announced on Aug. 1 she was stepping down as MLA for the district.

No date has been set for the byelection.

The Green Party has announced Lynne Lund will be its candidate. She ran for the party both provincially and federally in 2015.
