2 eastern P.E.I. libraries to close temporarily this summer for maintenance, upgrades
Montague's library to shut down June 23-28, Georgetown's to close July and August

Two libraries in eastern Prince Edward Island will temporarily close this summer to allow maintenance and upgrades to be done.
The Montague Rotary Library will shut for one week, from June 23 to 28.
"This closure is to allow for electrical work to be completed, which will permit the space to be reconfigured to improve overall accessibility and usability," Grace Dawson, P.E.I.'s director of libraries and archives, said in a statement to CBC News.
During the closure, patrons can still return books to the library's book drop. However, anyone looking to borrow items will need to visit another public library location.
Those with holds at the Montague branch can email staff to arrange pickup at another library. Otherwise, all incoming holds will be extended until the branch reopens.
Georgetown library to close for two months
Meanwhile, the Georgetown Genevieve Soloman Memorial Library, located within Georgetown Elementary School, will be closed for a longer period, from June 30 to Sept. 1.
"This closure is due to necessary building maintenance that can only be completed when the school is closed during the summer," Dawson said.
The library's book drop will also be closed for the duration of the shutdown.
For those in the Georgetown area who can't travel to another library due to illness or mobility challenges, staff are offering Home Library Services. That means materials can be delivered directly to patrons' homes. Residents can request this service via email.
