Western P.E.I. under freezing rain warning for Monday morning
Conditions will improve later in the day as temperatures rise, says Environment Canada

March looks to be going out like a lion, at least for the western part of Prince Edward Island.
Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for Prince County over a four-hour period starting Monday morning.
The weather agency said a warm front is expected to sweep across the region, with precipitation beginning as snow Sunday night before changing to ice pellets and then up to five millimetres of freezing rain in the morning.
The freezing rain is expected to transition to rain by late Monday morning as temperatures rise to a forecast 8 C.
"Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Utility outages may occur," the weather warning reads.
Environment Canada cautioned that similar weather in the past has led to cancellations, travel disruptions and damage to trees.
