A third person is facing charges related to the homicide of 53 year-old Brando Peji in Regina.

Darcy Manitopyes, 19, was arrested over the weekend and charged with manslaughter, forcible confinement and failure to comply with conditions of a release order. He made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday.

Terrina Pelletier, 48, is charged with first-degree murder in the case, while Bradley Gardiner, 19, is charged with manslaughter and forcible confinement.

Regina police found Peji's body on July 14 after responding to the 3,000 block of Fourth Avenue in the city's North Central neighbourhood.

During the investigation into Peji's death, a plainclothes Regina police officer fatally shot a 29-year-old man on July 18, police say.

Police say the 29-year-old man killed by police was "wanted in connection" with Peji's death. Two plainclothes officers confronted the man in an alley between Athol and Garnet streets, and after issuing commands, an officer fired one round and killed him, according to an early findings report by Saskatchewan's Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT).

Police have not publicly identified the 29-year-old man killed.

According to Acting Regina Police Chief Lorilee Davies, the officer involved is off work, co-operating with SIRT, and has spent 22 years with the force.

Peji's death was Regina's seventh documented homicide of 2025.
