Kindersley RCMP's Meghan Mochoruk was driving and listening to Ice Ice Baby when she dreamt up a now famous rhyme.

"Believe it or not, I was driving down the road one day and Vanilla Ice came on the radio," recalls Mochoruk. "I thought, 'I could do something with this.' I have actually been hanging on to this rap for a couple months now."

The rest is Canadian rap history. Sort of.

On Nov. 24, Mochoruk, who handles Kindersley RCMP's social media through her position as a detachment services assistant, posted the fateful poem on the group's Facebook page.

Within hours, the rap battle among Canadian police was heating up.

While none of the officers actually performed their winter safety jams, the public and media alike loved following the flurry of pseudo remixes.

More police chiming in

Today, Moose Jaw Police offered a retort of their own.

"It's amazing ... who knew safety could be so cool?" said Mochoruk. "The more the merrier."
