John Strang charged in Regina court with murder of wife Lisa

The man accused of killing his wife, Lisa Strang, has appeared in Regina provincial court Thursday, charged with first-degree murder.

The man accused of killing his wife, Lisa Strang, has appeared in Regina provincial court, charged with first-degree murder.

John Robert Strang, 48, remained in custody following the brief appearance where it was also noted he was also charged with uttering a death threat to another person.

Strang said he has a lawyer and the case was adjourned to Friday. As he was escorted from the prisoner's area Strang nodded to an older couple — his parents — who were in court for the appearance. They did not speak to media.

Strang has been in custody since he was arrested and charged.

The body of Lisa Strang, a longtime finance director with the Saskatchewan Party, was found in her home in the village of McLean on Saturday.

Police haven't said anything about the cause of death.

McLean is appoximately 40 kilometres east of Regina.
