Bodies of Rene Labonté, Ginette Labonté found in Red Squirrel Lake
Temagami OPP say they have now recovered a second body after a boat was found on Red Squirrel Lake without occupants.
On Thursday afternoon the OPP's underwater search and recovery unit found the body of Rene Labonté, 54, the day after the body of Ginette Labonté, 51, was discovered in the water.
Both hail from Harris Township.
Police said the investigation is continuing and no foul play is suspected. A post mortem is scheduled to be completed.
In a news release issued Friday, the OPP issued a reminder about wearing a life jacket to increase one's chances of surviving a boating incident.
"If you unexpectedly find yourself in the water, conditions such as wind, waves, temperature and more can impede your ability to locate and fasten a personal floatation device (PFD)," the release stated.
"Never underestimate the protection a floatation device can afford you."
