Boy, 6, falls from 10th-floor apartment window in Toronto's west end
Child rushed to hospital with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries, police say

A six-year-old boy is in stable but critical condition after he fell from the window of a 10th-floor apartment unit in Toronto on Thursday, police say.
The incident happened at a residential building on Humber Boulevard near Weston Road. Emergency personnel were called to the scene at about 2 p.m., and the child was taken to hospital by paramedics.
One officer at the scene told CBC Toronto that the boy was in his room playing with toys before he fell out the window, and a window screen on the ground outside was related to the incident.
Toronto Community Housing confirmed the child fell from a balcony at its building at 121 Humber Blvd.
"Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) communities are home to children and families all across the city, and any incident that affects the safety of a young person is deeply concerning to us. Our thoughts are with the family, and we are reaching out to support them," the statement reads.
The agency said it is working to understand what happened. Its staff are at the scene collecting information, talking to tenants and working with police and firefighters, it added.
Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall but provided no other details.
