A 33-year-old woman who went missing while visiting family in Etobicoke has been found safe, Toronto police said Wednesday.

The woman was reported missing on Monday evening. Her family said they had last seen her that morning.

She lives in the United States but has been in the city for a couple weeks visiting family, police said.

Police announced Wednesday that she had been found in good health, after a tip from the public came in about her whereabouts, and would be reunited with her family once she's medically cleared.

Insp. Jeff Banglid with the Toronto Police Service thanked the public for their assistance at a news conference Wednesday morning.

"We can't thank you enough for making this a successful resolution," he said.
