Police ID man killed in Scarborough shooting on Monday

A man has died after a shooting in Scarborough on Monday night, emergency services said.

Police have identified a Toronto man who died after a shooting in Scarborough on Monday night as 33-year-old Jordan Thompson.

The shooting happened in the area of Eglinton Avenue E. and Cedar Drive, near Markham and Kingston Roads. Toronto police said they responded to call about a male lying on the sidewalk.

The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead. 

Police identified him in a news release on Tuesday.

Investigators are looking for multiple suspects, police said in the release.

The homicide unit has been notified and the investigation is ongoing, police said in a post on X on Monday night.
