Toronto police arrest man after 3 unprovoked stabbings downtown in past week
Stabbings have seriously hurt 2 people, 1 is still in hospital and 1 is unhoused person, police say

Toronto police have arrested a man believed to be responsible for stabbing three people in separate unprovoked incidents over the past week.
Two of the victims were seriously injured.
In a news release on Sunday, police said the stabbings happened last Sunday, on Friday and on Saturday. The person stabbed Saturday night is still in hospital, police said. None of the victims knew the suspect, police added.
Last Sunday at 11:45 p.m., police said a man approached a sleeping unhoused person in the Simcoe Street and Bremner Boulevard area, stabbed the person and fled on foot. The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
On Friday around 9 p.m., police said a man approached a person walking alone in the area of Dan Leckie Way and Queens Quay W. The man stabbed the person from behind and fled on foot. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
And on Saturday, around 10:50 p.m., a man approached a person standing outside a building in the area of King Street W. and York Street, police say. The man stabbed the person from behind and fled on foot. The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Just before 6 p.m., Toronto police say they'd arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the stabbings. He's been charged with three counts of aggravated assaulted, two counts of attempted murder, and three counts of assault with a weapon, among other charges.
