Two boys behind nail board that injured 9-year-old girl in park
A parent called Windsor police on Monday evening with information about the case
A nine-year-old girl received minor injuries after she stepped on a board with nails sticking out in a park last Sunday — and Windsor police say two boys are behind the accident.
She was playing in Realtor Park in Riverside when she stepped on the board which was "concealed in a hole dug in the ground," say police in a media release.
On Monday, a parent called police with information, which revealed that two boys had set a trap "with the intention of catching rodents in the area."
The boys told their parents when they found out someone got injured.
Police says they've determined there was no intent to cause harm to any person.
"Finally, the case would not have been resolved so quickly without the boys who were responsible stepping up and informing adults about their actions."
Police reminds the public to consider safety and community well-being at all times.
