Voter turnout is up across the board in ridings in the Windsor area and beyond.

With 100 per cent of polls reporting, turnout in Windsor-Tecumseh is 45.25 per cent, nearly five percentage points over the last provincial election in 2022.

In Windsor West, turnout remained below 40 per cent, but rose to 38.42 per cent. Turnout for the riding in 2022 was about 33 per cent.

In Essex, nearly 51 per cent of eligible voters cast a ballot, up from 47 per cent in 2022 and in Chatham-Kent-Leamington, turnout was about 48 per cent — an increase of just over 42 per cent in 2022.

In Sarnia-Lambton, turnout was at 50.31 per cent, up from 46.32 per cent in 2022.

Premier Doug Ford called an early election call in January, which he said was needed to give him a strong mandate to fight U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs.

Turnout in Ontario's 2022 provincial election was among the lowest in the province's history, with about 43 per cent of the province's eligible voters casting a ballot.
