British singer's third album expected to break records in Canada as well
In just days, Adele's 25 has officially set a new first-week sales record, moving 2.433 million albums in the U.S. since its release Friday.
On Tuesday, Nielsen Music said that in just four days the British singer broke the record previously set by 'N Sync in 2000. The boy band's No Strings Attached sold 2.416 million albums in its first week.
In Canada, the album has sold approximately 216,000 copies in the past four days, according to Nielsen Music Canada. 25 is predicted to break the Canadian first-week sales record, currently held by Céline Dion's album Let's Talk About Love, which sold 230,000 copies in its first week of release in November 1997.
The new album's first single, Hello, is spending its fourth week on top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
