If the star-studded lineup at the Coachella desert music festival in Indio, Calif., wasn't enough, a host of extra guests showed up on stage Saturday for surprise appearances.

Pop star Kesha, who has been embroiled in a public legal battle over her music contract,  joined EDM artist Zedd on stage for the song True Colours. It marked the Tik Tok singer's first performance in months before a large audience.

The British EDM group Disclosure introduced New Zealand's Lorde for the song Magnets and British pop artist Sam Smith to sing some of the band's catchiest tunes, including Latch.

Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes played a side stage at the same time that Guns N' Roses were headlining the music festival on the main stage. R&B singer Janelle Monae joined Grimes for a performance of Venus Fly.

Guns N' Roses members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff reunited Saturday and were accompanied for a few songs by AC/DC guitarist Angus Young, who performed AC/DC classics Whole Lotta Rosie and Riff Raff.

It was widely expected that Ice Cube would reunite members of N.W.A. to perform at Coachella and he didn't disappoint. The rapper, whose life and music group were the subject of the 2015 acclaimed film Straight Outta Compton, brought out MC Ren and DJ Yella.

Ice Cube rounded out his appearance by bringing Oscar-winner Common and later, Snoop Dogg, on stage, to perform the rap hit The Next Episode.
