Hamish Telford, an assistant professor of political science at the University of the Fraser Valley, contrasts the leadership styles of Liberal Party Leader Mark Carney and Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre. He tells BC Today host Michelle Eliot that Poilievre is a quintessential populist politician while Carney is a technocrat with minimal experience in federal politics. He says their political futures will likely be decided by which leader the electorate thinks is best suited to handle U.S. President Donald Trump.
