Abegweit man argues treaty rights allow him to sell cigarettes from his home in Scotchfort, P.E.I.
John Bernard has pleaded not guilty to charges laid against him for reselling unstamped cigarettes that he bought from Listiguj First Nation in Quebec. He and his lawyer say it's his right to trade and sell tobacco because of agreements made in the 1700s between the Mi’kmaq and the Crown. CBC's Nicola MacLeod reports.
