Google has started rolling out its Gemini chatbot to supervised accounts, meaning children under 13 can now interact with AI to ask questions, get help with homework and even create images. While the chatbot is being added by default, parents have the option to opt out. We spoke with Renee Sieber, professor at McGill University’s Bieler School of Environment and an expert in AI ethics, about the implications of introducing artificial intelligence tools to young users.
