Aluminum, steel tariffs have slowed or cancelled local projects, says construction president
Waterloo region will grow to million people by 2050. All those new people will need homes, workplaces, places to go for fun — which means there will be more construction. But local construction projects could be in jeopardy as U.S. President Donald Trump slaps an additional 25 per cent tariff on steel and aluminum, bringing it to a total of 50 per cent. Jeff MacIntyre, president of the Grand Valley Construction Association, spoke to CBC K-W's Aastha Shetty about the potential impacts.
