The Varsity Multi-Service Centre includes a fire station, mixed-income housing, future retail and working space, and potential childcare space on city-owned land. As the CBC's Acton Clarkin reports, the City of Calgary says the mixed-use model is new to Calgary, but has roots in other Canadian cities and around the world.
