Throwback: When a Canadian finally won a Wimbledon title
Wimbledon 2025 wraps up this Sunday when Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz take each other on in the men’s singles final, the tournament’s last event. Seventeen years ago, Daniel Nestor became the first Canadian to win a senior Wimbledon title when he clinched his first of two consecutive men’s doubles championships alongside Serbian Nenad Zimonjić. He followed that by winning the 2013 Wimbledon mixed doubles title with France’s Kristina Mladenovic.
