The city is closing the south lot at Edworthy Park so construction crews can use it as a staging area. The crews will be shoring up a section of the slope along the nearby Douglas Fir Trail. Work was supposed to begin Monday, but the city is awaiting approval from a railway company because some of the work will take place on its land.
