Unpublished Andy Warhol art recovered from 30-year-old floppy disks

Pittsburgh researchers have found some of Andy Warhol's early computer art experiments. Made on a Commodore Amiga computer in 1985, and stashed away for decades, the pictures were retrieved from floppy disks that were almost completely deteriorated.

Warhol created the images using the early mouse and drawing tablet, while he was being paid to promote the computer's multimedia capabilities. The art was found by members of the Carnegie Mellon University computer club on floppy disks stored in the archives of the Andy Warhol Museum.

The images show some of his most popular subjects, from Marilyn Monroe to Campbell's soup cans.
