'A great man': author Alistair MacLeod remembered by his friend and fellow author David Adams Richards
The late Alistair MacLeod was one of Canada's greatest short story writers, his works inspired by the life and culture of Cape Breton. Although he only wrote 20 short stories and a novel during his lifetime, his works were all highly-acclaimed. His friend and fellow author, David Adams Richards remembers his friend as not only a great author, but "a great man."
"People used to say about Alistair that he is so great, I wonder why he doesn't do more [writing]," said David Adams Richards, writer and friend of Mr. MacLeod's told Carol, "but what he left us, he left us an eternity of stuff. It wasn't the amount, it was the quality."
Mr. MacLeod's death was confirmed on Sunday. He was 77 years old.
