The Republican National Convention presents: Circ De So Craz
Republican pageantry was on full display at this week's convention in Cleveland.
Between the spirited speeches, the protests and the patriotic fashion choices, the RNC was impossible to ignore. With headline-grabbing speeches from Melania Trump, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, a bunch of celebrities you've forgotten about, not to mention the Donald himself, our panel had plenty to say about the Republicans' campaign strategy.
"He said, that 'this old white people' business is getting a little tired," CBC personality Tom Howell said, referring to Republican Congressman Steve King's controversial comments on MSNBC earlier in the week.
"The best is that's also the same opinion from all the minorities," riffed comedian Aisha Alfa.
"So we do all have something in common," added panelist Jean Paul.
Of course, the convention-goers had plenty to say about Hillary Clinton, but some Trump supporters were extra-zealous in their hate. Take, for instance, Al Baldasaro, who said Hillary should be "shot for treason." In this segment, the Because News panel contemplates how this fiery rhetoric might affect future political discussions.
