Mary Grainger is the 'Baby Whisperer'

Mary's love for babies is the reason why she has been volunteering at Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario for four decades.

It's hard to resist the charm of newborn babies—the way they smell, their tiny hands and feet, their enormous eyes, their first attempts at smiling. And there's nothing quite like the feeling of cradling a baby in your arms, a feeling Mary Grainger knows all too well.

Mary has been volunteering at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario for 40 years, and many of those years were spent cuddling babies. Her special way with infants has gotten her the nickname 'the Baby Whisperer' among the nurses. She was recently recognized for all her years of volunteer work, and was named Volunteer of the Year at CHEO.
