Canada's Pamela Ware captured bronze in the women's three-metre springboard event at the FINA Diving World Cup in Wuhan, China on Saturday.

Greenfield, Que., native scores 348.75 total points to claim final podium spot

Canada's Pamela Ware captured bronze in the women's three-metre springboard event at the FINA Diving World Cup in Wuhan, China on Saturday.

The Greenfield, Que., native scored 348.75 total points to claim the final spot on the podium. The Chinese duo of Tingmao Shi and Han Wang finished first and second with scores of 404.70 and 383.55, respectively.

Ware finished 3rd in the Women's 3-metre Springboard final with a score of 348.75 at the FINA Diving World Cup in Wuhan, China.

"I'm so happy about how the whole day went. I've been working on my consistency in training and also in competition and I did exactly that today ... I haven't got an individual since 2013," Ware said.

Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., was eighth with a score of 315.30.

Ware broke a streak of 4 straight 4th place finishes with a bronze medal in the Women's 3-metre Springboard final at the FINA Diving World Cup.

"Today was a hard day for me. Unfortunately, I didn't have one good dive so I'm pretty disappointed with my performance. But at the same time, there's so many things that I still have to improve. But I improved since last year and I'm just really looking forward for next year to be even better in my technique," Abel said.

In the mixed 3m synchronized diving competition, Canada's Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu and François Imbeau-Dulac were out of sorts on their final dive and dropped to last place in the field of 13 pairs.
