Suspect charged in Vancouver house party stabbing
Vancouver police say they have charged a Surrey teen in the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old girl at a Vancouver house party last week.
Katey Renieta Gonzales, 18, of Surrey has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal stabbing, according to Inspector Mike Porteous of the department's major crime section.
Gonzales was arrested at her Surrey home on Friday after she phoned police to turn herself in. She remains in custody and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday morning, said police.
Angela Qiu, died in hospital after being stabbed at a wild party on the 6600 block of Knight Street on the city's East Side at about 1 a.m. PT Friday morning.
A 16-year-old girl who was also stabbed at the party was released after being treated for minor injuries that night.
