CBC's Radio Active is heading south to Ponoka, Alta., for a live broadcast from the 89th Ponoka Stampede on June 27.

This storied stampede, which takes place from June 25 to July 1, is considered one of the premiere events on the rodeo circuit.

This year we're bringing you the action from behind the chutes to the midway, from the parade to the entertainers at the Showdown Dance Hall and more.

We'll be chatting with ropers and wranglers, volunteers, campers and rodeo fans who are flocking by the thousands to take in all the action of the 89th Ponoka Stampede.

Swing by the Wild West Trade Show at the Ponoka Arena Complex at 4410 54 St. to catch the live broadcast from 3 to 6 p.m. and maybe score some sweet CBC stampede swag.
